After using innumerable chemical based products, people are turning back to natural remedies for skin care. This is because, they do not have harmful side effects. Some of the natural ingredients that help nourish the skin are:-

Avocado – It is beneficial for the skin in its various forms. It can be used in face masks or face scrubs. Consumption of avocado is also helpful in the overall health of a person, in addition to the health of the skin. Also, avocado oil is used as a moisturizer. It is widely used in various facial treatments because it resembles the natural oils present in the skin. Avocado is suitable for all skin types. It contains ingredients that help in preventing premature aging.


Honey – It is an ingredient which can be used as a face mask. This face mask shows quick results. It makes the skin soft and beautiful. In this face mask, the honey used should not be processed honey. As, honey in raw form is most beneficial to the skin. Using it regularly will make your skin glow along with making it softer. The best part is that you don’t have to mix it with other ingredients to make a pack or a mask. It can work on its own as a facial cleanser.

Yogurt – It works well in most of the face mask and scrubs. Usually, a combination of yogurt and one other ingredient is sufficient to make a great face mask or scrub. Yogurt is rich in protein and lactic acid which helps in detoxifying the skin. It works well on its own as well as with lemon to make a great cleansing agent. Another advantage of adding lemon is that, the mixture smells pleasant. So, you need not worry about getting rid of the smell.

Oil–There has been a lot of misconceptions about oil which were cleared recently. It was the best known moisturizer traditionally. But, with the advent of technology, a lot of new moisturizer products increased in the market. Because of that, oil lost its appeal. But, recently, it has gained popularity again, especially coconut oil and olive oil. Some other types of oil are also quite popular such as jojoba oil, avocado oil, castor oil, etc. Along with the moisturizing properties, it also has cleansing properties. So, oil is also used in various natural skin cleansing treatments.

Potato–Raw potato is a good natural remedy for skin care and nourishment. There is no need to make a special mask or scrub by using some other ingredients as well, to make a mixture. It can be used directly as a skin care product. Simply rubbing raw potato on skin pigmentation and marks can help in getting rid of them. Also, it is a good remedy for sunburn. It can be applied directly to the affected area.

Cucumber – It is one of the most popular ingredients used for skin nourishment. It is easily available andcalorie free. All this only adds to its popularity. It can either be consumed directly or applied on the skin. It is nourishing in both ways. Cucumber flushes out the toxins and impurities that otherwise makes the skin dull. It is a popular ingredient in not only homemade face packs, but also in natural skin care product. Along with helping in digestion and other such health problems, it helps to keep your skin healthy and nourished.
