Since weed is generally a complicated subject because each user is unique both in chemistry and habit, the question eventually arises: How long does weed stay in your system if you smoke it once a week? So, here we’ll tackle several ways that it stays in the system and give a range of about how long. There are other guides online to answer the question: is smoking weed once a week bad for your health.

The avenues weed will take in your system and a range of how long it stays there.

We won’t give exact amounts of time in days for each because that would be less than honest. The truth is, that it will stay with you according to things like body fats against metabolites. So, a known, common range is sufficient enough to give you an idea.

  • In the urine: To answer the main question for a single use it can last from 48 hours to 7 days. This depends on the person; the quality of the drug and the strength of it as well. Occasional use pops it up to 20 days and it climbs from there. So, needless to say, if you’re reading this because you have a drug test coming up– it’s a crap-shoot as to whether or not you’ll pass, unless it’s a week away and you’ve used it once.
  • In the blood: In the blood it is a bit less- 24-48 hours and max 18 days for chronic users. With just regular use, a few times a month, you’ll have it as it is in urine for the 48 hours to 7 days.
  • In the saliva: In this case, for single and occasional use, it’s 24 hours, this is probably the safest test for a pop test because you could get away with it if you used on Friday or Saturday night and had the test on Monday. It can stay in the system up to 7 days for extreme use if it’s used nearly everyday.
  • In the hair: While with other drugs the hair can give away your life history–that’s not so with marijuana but it’s long enough to get you in trouble.. As with most standard tests of this kind ,they will test for the last 3 months {90 days} results. It may not give away your life history for pot but it certainly takes a tremendous amount of time to clear from the hair shaft. This is the most dangerous test for most people looking to get away with either a pop test or a longer wait.

In Conclusion

Apart from us telling you it’s not worth losing a job or opportunity over, we’ll also alert you to the fact that as long as there’s money to be made from cannabis, the drug testing will get trickier and trickier. Why? Well, as any type of drug user, you’re sort of a pawn in a larger-scale game on a vast chessboard than just between you and your pusher. From the people that grow it, sell it and traffic it; as well as the fines that are incurred by it– you are perpetuating a much larger picture and a much larger problem. The question to ask is: Who do I as a user want to make money for? Because it’s not coming to you. Want to help people while you’re using if that’s what you must do? Then become a legal grower of medical marijuana. Then, you can become a worth cog in a useful machine.
